Bumper Guards

As I am learning is par for the Porsche 356 course, there are details for even bumper guards if you want to buy something original and correct.

The A used a single-piece guards, and supported overrider tubes. The B / C cars had two-piece guards, and no more overriders . The rears had a hole through the bottom where the exhaust exited. While not available from Porsche, a popular aftermarket option was the addition of exhaust pipe extensions to prevent tarnishing the chrome.

Thanks to the Porsche 356 Registry Forum, and some sleuthing, it appears if you look at the inside they should have these markings:

  • Front: “huf” 9017 and L or R (for left or right side)
  • Rear: “huf” 9020 and L or R (for left or right side)

I found a pair in the 356 Registry Classifieds that should be in very good condition. No scuffs, cracks, or dents that would require repair before re-chroming.
