Headed Home

After a trip through the mail, our heads returned home.

They got very similar measurements of the head angles as I did. They also mentioned that my original machinist may have surfaced the head, but did not adjust for decking off the top. Which I believe would explain my issue with getting 1 – 1.5 mm deck height and compression less than 9.3:1.

It sounds like they were able to cut most of the squish angle to 22-degree. They got into the valve seat some, but stayed out of the valve sealing surface. They also adjusted the head height.

This is the last go round for this head. They indicated that it had been reworked multiple times. I’m going to guess at least once by someone who did not know what they were doing.

Since they’ve been modified, I’m back to another round of cc’ing the heads

Hopefully it will be much easier taking measurements and putting the heads together the 3rd time around.
