After taking last weekend to cc the heads, check clearances with clay and take measurements, I have calculated that with a 1.0 mm cylinder base gasket:
- Deck height is ranging: 1.82 – 1.92 mm; I understand that 1.0 mm or a little less is desired
- Compression ratio range: 9.02 – 9.21 (9.10 average). I understand 9.0 is stock and you should avoid going above 9.5 for street.
My thought is drop my gaskets thickness to .75 mm. That would lower my deck height to about 1.6 mm. My compression would go up to 9.33 average, with 9.44 on the highest cylinder. The deck height is still not ideal, but fewer gaskets will push us over the compression range.
