I finally received my refurbished generator back from Zims. Certainly miles better than the way it looked when I took it off the car.
The process was not without pain. After a couple months of waiting, I received a shiny generator from Zims. Unfortunately, it was not my original generator. It wasn’t even the right model. This was extremely frustrating, given it was original and date code correct for our car. I also was very specific in email communication from the beginning that I didn’t want a core exchange. I wanted my original back.
After connecting with the rep at Zims, it became clear they had lost track of it, and sold it to someone else. Since the owner Al had contacted me, I took my issue up with him. It took a few weeks, but ultimately they found it and got it back.
While frustrating, I give them credit for taking responsibility, and ultimately doing what was necessary to get my original generator back to me.
