It was holiday family fun day today. While I didn’t get hands on time with the engine, my mind worked away. In between wondering when we would eat and considering the amount of alcohol it is safe to mix with anti-anxiety medication, I pondered the merits of zinc versus cad plating.
I also wondered whether our oil cooler was original. Comparing mine to the late great Harry Pellow book, it does not appear so. While the bolt size and side patterns appear correct for 356B, his photos suggest there is a flat side with markings that is absent from ours.
Off to the forum for advice. Hopefully I do not wear out my welcome there with tedious questions.
